About the Author
Steve Sandler has worked in the field of power electronics for more than 35 years. He is the founder and president of Picotest (www.Picotest.com), a company that designs and manufactures specialty test equipment. Mr. Sandler is also the founder and chief engineer of AEi Systems (www.AEiSystems.com), a company that provides engineering services, including worst case analysis, SPICE modeling, and failure analysis. He was a Test & Measurement World “Best in Test” Finalist in 2013 and 2014. Mr. Sandler is the author of Switchmode Power Supply Simulation with PSpice and SPICE 3 and co-author of SPICE Circuit Handbook.

A Must-Read Book for the Power System Engineer at the Leading Edge

Steve Sandler's new book, "Power Integrity," is what many of us in the power industry have been waiting for. As power densities and switching speeds increase, the challenge of measurement and optimization grows disproportionately. Steve has a wonderful ability to walk the reader through all the fundamentals and then take you to the next level of understanding. This book is a must-have companion for any engineer wanting to design power systems at the leader edge.

A must have!

I've worked in a power conversion and delivery lab environment as an engineering technician for eleven years; and this is the first reference book I've seen that covers this very important topic. This book is a must have for any engineer, or technician, who makes measurements in a lab environment. It is very easy to read and understand, with many pictures of test setups and waveform captures to aid in measurement applications. I am also currently attending electrical engineering school, and feel this book would be extremely helpful in the lab environment for students who have little to no experience making measurements.
Many real world examples and measurement pitfalls, that would normally take someone years to learn by trial and error, are included in the book, with an index for quick reference. Steve worked with many test equipment vendors, and with several different models of equipment. This is important because we don’t all have the same equipment on our benches; but the odds are your model, or something like your model, is covered in this book.
I especially appreciate the fact that Steve covers component data sheets, and how the specifications in them can be misleading. This is important to understand because it leads to designs that do not perform as expected. He explains areas to watch out for with examples.
The second half of the book goes over important measurements for power distribution networks (how and why). Stability, current transient response, impedance measurements, and much more are covered in this section.
Thanks to Steve Sandler for spending the many hours it took to thoroughly understand and explain the many measurements and pitfalls associated with power-related parameters!

fills a gap on the market Steven Sandler: Power Integrity

Together with my colleagues I was looking for a longer time for an appropriate book in the power supply/PDN measurements topic, that is primarily strongly praxis/measurement oriented.
We ordered more examples of this book at the end of 2014. The book was at that time not even available on the market, we did not really know, what will we get. There were no customer reviews available at that time.
After receiving the books it did not take us long to realize, that the book meets all our expectations, and even much more...
The book is written in an easy to read and comprehend style, although theoretically well-founded.
The coloured pictures, diagrams and schematics make it simply delightful, it was a great idea to do it this way.
Mr. Sandler's: Power Integrity is used almost on a daily basis in our work, and it is an appreciated peace of our library.
We can strongly recommend the book to every practicing engineer involved/interested in power supply and PDN design/measurement topics.
